A taste of Caprisian summer at Maison&Objet 2022 in Paris

Last month, Ricciocaprese showcased its new collection of luxury design objects at Maison&Objet 2022 in Paris, France.
Running from March 14th-18th, the biannual fair celebrated the latest in furnishings and accessories and set the ultimate interior design trends for the upcoming season.

Alongside the world’s top interior design brands, Ricciocaprese presented its take on the expo’s spring-summer theme “New Luxury: From Uber Luxury to Lux Populis.”

The design boutique from Capri, Italy, left the event visitors yearning for Italian summer with its colorful design objects and handmade fragrance diffusers in the shape of islands’s iconic sea urchins.

As a Maison&Objet participant since 2010, the Ricciocaprese brand is particularly recognized and appreciated in France.

The signature Riccio piece, in all shapes and sizes, has become synonymous with holidays in Italy, adding a touch of the Mediterranean to your home no matter where it is located.

The boutique takes its styling cues from The Island of Capri with its lush-green vegetation, deep blue Neapolitan Sea and flowered terraces.

Even with a single Ricciocaprese decor, you can add a little Mediterranean personality to your home, giving a whole new feeling to your favorite space.

With the elegant touch of a Ricciocaprese centerpiece added to your go-to table settings, you can turn your friendly get-together into a spot-on Italian aperitivo and have your guests asking about your recent trip to Capri.

Whether for that special occasion or your weekly Sunday brunch, let yourself indulge in your finest
Ricciocaprese porcelain, available in The Island’s traditional hand-blended colors – aquamarine, coral red, limestone white and more.

According to founder Imma Sarnacchiaro,

“Ricciocaprese is Capri at its boldest and best. Just like the island, it is playful and elegant and has a timeless feel to it. Each piece is an opportunity to relive the slow-paced magic of Southern Italy at your home, with its unique colors, lights and scents.”

In line with the latest Maison&Objet theme, this season’s must-haves by Ricciocaprese range from Uber Luxury to Lux Populis, with elaborate lighting pieces on the higher end of the spending spectrum and a pop, color-soaked fragrance collection, from which everybody can choose a little something to remember their Mediterranean trip by.

Housed in a handmade sea urchin vase, these vibrant scent diffusers will help you stay in sync with the Italian holiday mood and add a stylish accent to your home.

All diffusers are artisanally produced in-house using ceramic, except for the Bella Femmina collection that is made of porcelain, taking inspiration from the century-old Italian maiolica pottery.

The most popular Ricciocaprese fragrances include Capri fig, basil and mint, saffron and raspberry and local garden flowers.

Ricciocaprese takes pride in its “Made in Italy” label, blending impeccable style with top-quality craftsmanship. Each piece is handmade by expert craftsmen and ceramic designers from the Capodimonte Art School in Naples, Italy.

Since Ricciocaprese’s debut at Maison&Objet in 2010, Ricciocaprese has matured into the must-visit Italian brand when visiting not only the Island of Capri but the one and only Maison&Objet. The Brand has gained particular traction among Parisian designers and collectors, looking to bring the feeling of Italian summer into their projects.

If you happen to have missed Ricciocaprese at the latest Maison&Objet expo, you can visit the showrooms in Capri and Naples in person or shop The Brand’s original designs online.

Have you ever heard of "Armocromia"?

To explain what is meant by color harmony in this article, we have used two authoritative sources in the field of color research: the documents developed by the Pantone Color Institute, the global authority in the world of color; the “Armocromia”, launched this year by Rossella Migliaccio, image consultant, researcher of the relationship of exalting personal individuality through the correct combination of color palettes, founder of the Italian Image Institute, a structure exclusively dedicated to the science of personal image. At the beginning of the year Pantone published the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report Spring-Summer 2021 edition, which presents the future color trends to be applied also to furnish your home. The report features ten prominent colors, as well as current interpretations of five classic shades.

A range of shades inspired by the beauty of nature to support flexibility and reinvention

According to the experts of the Pantone Color Institute, the colors of summer 2021 reveal our most ancestral desire to surround ourselves with colors that inspire ingenuity and inventiveness. These are versatile colors, not tied exclusively to the season that allow greater freedom of choice, to adapt more easily to our lifestyle. “Offering a range of shades inspired by nature, the colors for summer 2021 underline our desire for flexible shades, and a palette suitable for the whole year”. Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute says, “Our choices combine feelings of comfort and relaxation with sparks of energy that encourage and lift our moods.”

Colors are a symbol of life, simple and complementary exist

To enhance the power of colors, the color scheme. Color Blending is “A science that, based on the combination of skin, eyes and hair, defines the ideal color palette for each of us, that is, the range of colors that can make us look more beautiful, younger, fitter”. Let’s reconcile ourselves with spaces and their use by blending the colors suggested by Pantone for summer 2021 with the principles of color harmony to enhance the human being and the spaces in which he lives through the use of color.

Here are the main trends for 2021

A comforting light-infused golden yellow lends a warm presence. In this case it is very important to consider the role of light and the times of exposure: enhancing the warm light of the sunset by inserting golden shades such as Ricciocaprese golden decor, allows you to multiply the light that already floods the room. “A rule that also applies to people’s faces”, explains Rossella Migliaccio.

The color of the sky of Capri, on a clear day.

Yellow and orange are colors that give energy to the mind and body, stimulate creativity, independence and self-confidence. The Ocher color evokes autumn leaves, it is an unusual choice for a summer palette.

Yellow and orange are colors that give energy to the mind and body, stimulate creativity, independence and self-confidence. Symbol of joy and optimism, this yellow dot is the promise of a sunny day.

An intense shade of blue like the azulejos decorations of the majolica tiles that peek out from the patios and gardens overlooking Via Tragara.

The coral color is a classic of the summer, it is stimulating.

The teal evokes an immediate feeling of freshness.

A sophisticated amethyst shade inspired by the cyclamen flower.

A breath of fresh air full of optimism and light-heartedness that symbolizes youth and feminine beauty.

How to choose colors at home, based on your colors: where do we start to identify our "palette"?

Migliaccio says: “The color scheme works by repetition: once our personal characteristics have been identified, they can be repeated in what we wear and in the environment in which we live. The variables to be identified are: the undertone, so to understand if we orient ourselves on warm colors or cold colors; the value, that is, lighter or darker colors; intensity, brighter, more vivid, saturated colors or more subdued colors. Once identified, they must be repeated in the elements of the furniture to be inserted at home “. Our advice is to learn how to use your palette, but above all to learn to open up to color, because it is a component that brings joy and enhances the personality.
